Sony recently unveiled its HDR-TG1 Handycam camcorder.The HDR-The pocket-sized camcorder is encased in a durable titanium ­chassis which makes it very sturdy for everyday use and has a 2.7-inch touch panel LCD screen.The camcorder can record 1920×1080 HD video and 4-megapixel digital photos directly to Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo or PRO Duo Mark2 media cards and incorporates face detection technology for both video and still images.

The camcorder also incorporates face detection technology for both video and photos that can identify up to eight faces in the camcorder’s LCD frame and automatically adjust exposure, focus and colour control.Additionally, the D-Range ­optimiser technology ensures more evenly-exposed pictures especially when recording in high contrast and strong backlit areas.The built-in zoom microphone can also record in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound for clearer and better audio. The Sony HDR-TG1 is priced at RM3,999.
